Martha Little Bookbinding & Conservation
Martha Little has over thirty years experience as a professional book conservator and hand bookbinder. She specializes in the repair and preservation of books, manuscripts and printed works on paper, in the binding of small editions and fine books, and in the design and construction of custom-made boxes and presentation enclosures. She also provides condition survey and consultation services for small or large collections. She teaches workshops around the country and offers instruction to individuals or small groups at her studio in Sonoma County, California.
Martha was Book Conservator at the Yale University Library, Head of Conservation at the University of Michigan Libraries, and has been in private practice since 1987. She trained with Jane Greenfield at Yale and with Roger Powell in England. She is a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation, a member of the Guild of Book Workers, and an Assessor for Heritage Preservation’s Conservation Assessment Program.
